SCIENTIST, the dub master, whose abilitites passed his mentor
King Tubby. In Steve Barrow's
" The Reggae Rough Guide" He states that Hopeton "Scientist" Brown found things at the contols beyond the skills of King Tubby.(not to take anything away from the master)
Scientist states in the book that he began by building amplifiers, and by building amps, he could find out how good they were by cutting dub plates. This sizes up why Scientist style far outpassed them all. And what a sound it is.
I've never heard dubs like those of Scientist. Shame on Greensleves and Grand Theft Auto.

i can't honestly say I agree that he surpassed the King, but he was definitely more in tune to technology in the studio, and seemed to embrace it a bit more readily than King Tubby. Its all good in the end - not like one is better than the other cuz its all love.

No Feel No Way,

The I-man meant no harm to the Great King Tubby, yet all organic knowledge grows even further, like how things on earth evolve.
I n I give thanks to both King Tubby and Scientist. The evolution in music today can be heard in Jungle, Drum and Bass, Trip Hop, in fact even Rap evolved from Reggae.
Music is a mission not a Competition.

Give thanks to all reggae Massive.

One Love
